Thanks to multiple industry tweets, I came across this very good article with further discussion of craft beer industry (small, independent breweries) versus "crafty" beer market (craft-like beers from the behemoth breweries): How Big Beer is Trying to Stop a Craft Beer Revolution.
Without belaboring it too much, the bottom line is that consumers should be informed. Not just about beer, but about our food sources and ingredients, about our clothing, homes, cars, washing machines or whatever. It all matters and it all adds up.
Luckily, it's pretty easy to get the information these days and the equation is pretty simple in the restaurant, brewery, winery, distillery world and the answer is "LOCAL."
